Where/when are the home games?

What determines a child's "soccer age"?
When trying to figure out what age group your child would play in, you would need to determine their "soccer age". This is the child's age as of July 31st of the current year.

Can my child move up/down an age bracket?
Unless there is a mental and physical reason (determined by a doctor), children are not allowed to play down an age group. A child can request to play up an age group as long as they are one year younger than the next age group (i.e, a 9 year old can request to play up with 10-11 year olds, but an 8 year old cannot). Please make this request in writing at the time of the registration and we will try to accommodate.

How are teams chosen?
Teams are chosen via a computerized blind draft. Any requests for special team placement, including siblings, should be made in writing at the time of registration. We cannot guarantee that all requests will be honored.

When will I hear from a coach?
You register your child in January or February, but will not hear from a coach until mid-May. It seems like a very long time but much is going on behind the scenes during that time. Rosters and schedules are usually not ready until late April as we are still adding late registrants to teams, as well as recruiting coaches for teams.

When are practices?
Practices are scheduled by the individual coaches. Please check with your coach regarding when he/she has scheduled any practices.

What equipment do I need to purchase?
Shin guards are required. Cleats are not required for the younger ages (4-5) but many children wear them. The GB Kickers provide a team jersey, shorts and socks.

Is there a rule regarding jewelry?
No jewelry is allowed. This includes "starter" earrings and hair beads. All jewelry must be removed prior to play.
